KIADEKU

Personalized, evidence-based nursing care: Pressure ulcer management supported by AI

The research project KIADEKU ties in with existing international developments in medicine, especially in the field of image recognition and wound management. For the first time, these potentials are to be used for nursing issues. The research results will be applied to the field of pressure ulcer care. In the future, nursing professionals will be supported by an AI system to better assess wound types.

The solution will also contribute to the transition from theory into practice, since in addition to the pre-screening of the wound type, the rationale for the system’s decision will also be displayed. To relieve administrative workload, guideline-based criteria (e.g. wound size, color, redness, etc.) will be suggested from the image for documentation. In case of uncertainty, wound experts can be consulted and the chatbot function can be used.
